CARE FOR our earth,
CARE FOR people

At Ubungani we equip people with knowledge and skills that will empower them to address environmental problems in their communities and, in so doing, encourage sustainable use of the environment, to improve the quality of their lives and that of their respective communities.

about ubungani

Ubungani Eco- Adventures is a Non Profit Company which is a company not for gain. The Directors are Tumisang Chauke, Vinourica Ndou and Naledi Itsweng. In 2013 we were introduced to Hanneke Van Der Merwe who was the founder of Ubungani Wilderness Experience. She is passionate about Environmental Education and has done amazing work over 30 years to change and impact the lives of children and Officers she has worked with, she continues to do so today. She is our mentor and has imparted a great deal of great knowledge to us which we will forever be grateful for. On her retirement she found us worthy to continue with her legacy and we are honoured.

Our Focus is...

... to make a difference in the lives of the people we come into contact with by facilitating self-growth and self-appreciation as well as the appreciation of others.
... to create an appreciation and respect for the bio-diversity of our fauna and flora and an understanding of the intricate balance that is needed for the continued existence of our Earth.

Our Approach

At Ubungani we approach every situation as unique and every child as an individual. We will adapt our approach to the special needs of each participant so as to maximise the depth of their experiences with us. The individual is important to us therefore the maximum number of participants per Educational Officer is 15.

Our leaf symbolises growth and development
